Delete Your Account
About this document
This page explains how to delete your Fleetbit account from the client app, the driver app, or by contacting us. It also explains exactly what gets deleted, what we are legally required to retain, and how long the process takes.
Fleetbit is operated by Fleetbit LLC. Account deletion is also referenced in our Privacy Policy for Clients, Privacy Policy for Drivers, and Legal Contact & Notices.
Effective date: 2026-04-25. Contact: [email protected].
At a glance
- You can delete your account at any time, from inside the app or by emailing us.
- Deletion is permanent — your profile, saved addresses, reviews, in-app messages, and the personal data tied to your job history are removed.
- We retain financial, tax, and legal records that we are required by law to keep (typically for 7 years).
- Deletion completes within 30 days of your request. Backups roll off within an additional 90 days.
- Drivers with unpaid balances, active jobs, or open disputes will be asked to resolve those first.
1. How to delete your account
1.1 In the client app
- Open the Fleetbit client app and sign in.
- Tap Edit Profile (top of the home screen / profile section).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete Account again in the warning dialog.
Once you confirm, your session is ended immediately, your account is marked for deletion, and you are signed out.
1.2 In the driver app
- Open the Fleetbit driver app and sign in.
- Tap the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete Account again in the warning dialog.
Once you confirm, your session is ended immediately, your driver record is marked for deletion, and you are signed out.
1.3 By email
If you cannot access the app — for example because you lost your phone, can no longer sign in, or already uninstalled the app — you can request deletion by email:
- Send a message to [email protected]
- Use the subject line "Account deletion"
- Send the message from the email address registered on your account so we can verify that the request is yours
We may ask you for additional information to verify your identity before we act on the request. We respond to email deletion requests within 45 days, extendable once by notice to 90 days, as permitted by U.S. state privacy laws.
1.4 From this website
If you are reading this page on the web and want a record of your request, you may also email [email protected] using the instructions in section 1.3 above. A self-service web form will be added in a future release.
2. What gets deleted
When your deletion request is processed, we erase the following from our active production systems within 30 days:
- Profile information: your name, email address, profile photo, and (if provided) phone number.
- Authentication credentials: your password hash, and the link between your account and any Google or Apple sign-in identity.
- Saved addresses and preferences: pickup and drop-off addresses, default container sizes, notification preferences, app settings.
- Job-history personal data: your name, contact details, notes to drivers, photos you attached to jobs, and the job-to-user link. The underlying job record may be retained in anonymized form (see section 3).
- Reviews and ratings: ratings you left for drivers and (where you are a driver) ratings clients left about you, with your name removed.
- In-app messages and support tickets: support conversations tied to your account.
- Push-notification tokens and device identifiers tied to your account.
- Driver-specific data (driver accounts only): vehicle details, service area, availability schedule, driver photo, performance metrics tied to your identity.
After active-system deletion, the same data rolls off our encrypted backups within an additional 90 days.
3. What we are required to keep
Some records cannot be deleted on request because we are required by law, tax rules, or financial-reporting obligations to retain them. We minimize what we keep and store it securely. Specifically:
| Category | Why we keep it | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices, receipts, and transaction records | Federal and New York State tax law (IRS, NY Department of Taxation and Finance) | 7 years from the last calendar year of activity |
| Driver payout records and 1099 reporting data | IRS information-reporting rules | 7 years |
| Bank-transaction metadata (counterparty, amount, date) | Anti-money-laundering and accounting | 7 years |
| Records subject to a litigation hold, subpoena, or active legal claim | Legal obligation | Until the hold is released |
| Records of fraud, abuse, or banned-account activity | Fraud prevention and platform safety | Indefinite, in a separate restricted database |
| Anonymized / aggregated statistics (no identifiers, not reasonably re-identifiable) | Service improvement, capacity planning | Indefinite |
These retained records are kept in restricted-access systems, are not used to contact you, and are not associated with an active account.
4. Driver accounts — additional notes
Because driver activity involves payouts and tax reporting, the following also apply to driver accounts:
- If you have unpaid balances owed to you, we will pay them out before closing your account.
- If you have active jobs in progress, we will ask you to complete or cancel them before deletion proceeds.
- If you have open disputes with clients or with Fleetbit, deletion is held until those are resolved.
- 1099 / tax forms already issued for prior tax years remain on file for the 7-year retention period above and may still be sent to you for years in which you earned reportable income.
5. Re-creating an account after deletion
After your account is deleted you may sign up again at any time using the same email address or a different one. The new account starts fresh — prior reviews, ratings, jobs, and saved data are not restored.
If your previous account was banned for violations of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, creating a replacement account to evade the ban is itself a violation and may result in the new account being closed.
6. App-store equivalents
The in-app deletion path described above satisfies Apple App Store (Guideline 5.1.1(v)) and Google Play (Data Safety) requirements for in-app account deletion. You do not need to email us — the in-app option performs the same deletion.
